I don’t like Bill Maher very much. Back in November, I expressed my personal disgust over his points-of-view on various topics.
But, Roger Simon was able to nail Maher even better than I did, and in far fewer words, which is why more people read him:
Maher is something else – a cynical, preening, self-deceiving narcissist who clings to the airwaves with the desperation of a dying leech that will never get off our backs. Nothing he ever says is more than a cliché or less than self-promotion. Whatever small modicum of humor he may once have had has disappeared up his own navel while he was gazing at it, sort of like liposuction in reverse.
Simon was reacting to the appearance of Doctor Professor Chief Ward Churchill on Maher’s HBO program. What made Simon and a host of others happy is that Jeff Jarvis had the intestinal fortitude to actually watch Maher interview Churchill and then report on it. God bless your cast iron intestines, Mr. Jarvis.

I’ve never cared for Maher but folks were talking about Politically Incorrect so I tried it a time or two. That was more than enough for me.
Now with a different program, he’s interviewed Ward Churchill in an apparently very sympathetic interview. That makes him a lower lifeform than slime as far as I’m concerned.
I guess Maher’s forgotten that Barbara Olson was unable to appear in her regular seat on Politically Incorrect on the night of September 11, 2001.
